Staying Local

Call me crazy if you wish, but I’ve got this vision of keeping my flower farming  business as local as I can.  Yeah, I could probably get more business, sell my flowers for more dollars, and make more connections if I chased sales in the big city.  But I live with my family on a farm in a tiny rural county for a reason–to make a living off the land and to leave it better than we found it. To bloom where we’re planted.

So that’s why you can find my friend Joanna and me selling our Cumberland County-grown flowers right here in Cumberland County, VA.  We both recently enjoyed selling from the mint green flower truck at the EZgo filling station, just 5 minutes down the road.  We made connections and brought smiles to just the right people — our neighbors.
